The Big Day!

We had to be at the hospital at 7:30 AM so Lydia stayed at G'ma English's house. I was ready but disappointed that I didn't go into labor naturally. I actually look like I dropped in this picture but no contractions felt yet except Braxton Hicks.

Last picture as a family of three. I got an epidural which I had decided to do if I had to be induced again. The contractions come on hard and fast with IV pitocin. Here I am about 7-8 cm, but you can't tell. The epidural made me feel nothing! I had to wear oxygen because the baby was being stubborn and staying high and compressing the cord. We got close to C-section. Thank goodness, she finally decided to come after 7.5 hours!

Here we are....wow...a family of FOUR! Little miss chubs was 9 lbs 1 oz and 21 inches long. Good thing I've got birthing hips!
Miss Sadia May English is much more mello than Lydia, thank goodness. She has the Lydia look but Snider cheeks like her mommy. Maybe she will be an angel child also like her mommy.

Come Out, Come Out!

It is now May 10 and due date passed 3 days ago. I am making it too comfortable for these babies. First Lydia was 10 days late and now this again. I tried everything but castor oil. I might be tempted next time. Anyways nothing worked and I had to be induced on May 12.

Snip, Snip

Lydia's curls were getting too close to looking like a mullet, so I had to cut it. I volunteered to trim one the little boy's hair from church so I did Lydia's also. We had to use snacks as bribes to sit in the chair. Lydia kept pushing the hair out of her eyes and it would automatically curl up. I went well surprisingly.

Strawberry Pickin'

The Merrills were in town for a few weeks. Yeah!!! They invited us to go pick strawberries. "Only pick the red ones!" we told Lydia. She mainly just wanted to carry the bucket and eat strawberries, which we let her especially since when she picked them they ended up capped and mushy.

The strawberries were so good, we went again with the Bostons. Lydia showed Kate the ropes.

"Wishin' and Hopin' "

Okay I thought this might be the last preggo picture before delivery. I was three days shy of due date....you'll see what happens.

Last birthday as mommy of one

I turned 26 years old and Jonathan so readily reminded me that I am closer to 30 than 20 now. All I cared about was that I only had a month left of pregnancy. Okay I am one of the lucky ones and pregnancy could be worse. I just didn't sleep much due to nocturnal urinary frequency and I have worsening varicose veins on my right leg. I still forced myself to exercise which I think really helps with recovery. Okay "cuzetes" you see how big I am! ( I made that word up, I know)
